Log Styles

Traditional Dovetail Style

The traditional dovetail is the true Appalachian-style log home. Available in 6"x12" and 8"x12" with the chinkatex spline system, which is unique in the log industry. Logs up to 40' eliminate joints in the walls.

Stacked Chink Style

The answer for those wanting the chink style log on the outside with a smooth finish on the inside is Pioneer's Stacked Chinked Dovetail. It comes in 6"x12" and 8"x12" and features log-on-log construction using kiln dried materials. Choose from a variety of exterior surface options. This log can also be stacked without chinking on the exterior.

D-Log Style

Pioneer's double tongue and groove D-log is available in 6"x8" and 8"x8", flat smooth on the inside and round on the outside. With the 8"x8" you also have the option of a round face inside and outside. This kiln-dried wall system offers several types of corner systems. Choose from the butt and pass, the saddle notch or Pioneer's unique preferred dovetail corner system.

Handcrafted Style

Pioneer developed this handcrafted log style with dovetail corners to give log home owners the look and feel of a 100 year old vintage structure by using old-time skills in combination with new materials and innovative production capabilities.
